At Enhanced Smiles, we stay up to date with the latest technology in dentistry. We go through hours of continuing education each year to learn more for our patients and to stay current. One thing that we are very proud of is providing convenient, healthy, and beautiful smiles for our patients. One way we do this is with our custom-made restorations that can be done with our Cerec crowns. This technology uses digital impressions and CAD/CAM design to create beautiful, strong crowns on-site on the same day. Our on-site milling machine can make your crown, bridge, inlay or onlay in a single visit.

Step 1: Scan

The first step in making your on-site crown is getting a 3D image of your tooth. We use a small Cerec scanner that takes 3D color images of your tooth and we match the color to the original tooth as well as the surrounding teeth for a natural look.

Step 2: Design

After analyzing the scan, the Cerec software generates restoration proposals. Dr. Pham uses the software and then goes straight through to the production phase. He makes sure everything will fit perfectly and match the surrounding teeth.

Step 3. Production

The Cerec software and the milling unit are synchronized with one another. The milling and grinding unit create the full-contour restoration which is extremely precise in making the smooth surface and fine edges to replicate a real tooth.

Step 4: Glaze

After it is made, whether it be a crown or bridge, it is glazed chairside to ensure the rigidity of the restoration and the final look of the tooth.

Cerec is effective in restoring cracked, chipped, or decayed teeth. From start to finish, our same day crowns take about two hours to complete. This can save you time and money in the long run because before, a laboratory would have to create the restoration which used to take about three weeks. If you would like a consult about our Cerec technology, or to see our Cerec milling machine, give us a call at 704-865-6856. We would love to see you!
